About

Riah was the daughter of Tracey Milton; however, her biological mother did not raise her. Her mother became a part of her life after she turned 18 years old. Riah had a total of three sisters and two brothers. Her younger sister, Ariel Mary Ann, did not grow up with Riah, as the sisters were separated when Ariel Mary Ann was adopted. Riah worked as a home health aide and was also studying at the University of Cincinnati. She loved traveling and being outside. She was described by her mother as outgoing, helpful, and always put her family first. Riah was a black transgender woman.

Riah was lured by the three suspects, ages 25, 18 and 14 years old, to a park in Liberty Township, Ohio in an attempt to steal her car. She was robbed and shot multiple times. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the scene of the crime. Police believe that the suspects' motive was robbery and the theft of her Camaro. Riah was a black transgender woman; however, the police do not believe that she was targeted by the suspects due to her race and/or identity.

Was justice served?

As of February 2021, justice has not yet been served, as the cases against the two adult suspects, Tyree Cross and Kaleb Tooson, have not gone to trial. Both are being held in the Butler County, Ohio jail on $1 million bonds. The 14-year-old female suspect was sentenced to six months of home confinement for her role in the shooting. She will not be able to leave her home and will be closely monitored by her probation officer. In addition, the juvenile was ordered to undergo counseling and not to have any contact with Cross and Tooson.
