Latasha was in a three year relationship with her boyfriend. She also had two sons aged 16 and 10 at the time of her death and was close with her brother, Alphonso Wright, Jr. She grew up in Pompano Beach and many relatives said she had a big heart and was just a great person.
Latasha Walton and her boyfriend were visiting friends in Miami. The officer claims that Ms. Walton was driving erractically and was pulled over for a traffic violation. Per the officer, Ms. Walton began to drive away when the officer was out of his patrol vehichle and did not listen to instructions to stop. The officer then appeared to move in front of her vehicle and shot at her 6 times.
