About

Dominique "Remmie" Fells, was born in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Growing up, she lived with her parents, Keith and Terri Edmonds, and her two sisters, Desiree and Dior. Dominique was educated in the Central York and York City School Districts. She graduated from William Penn High School of York in 2010. Following high school, Dominique attended Cheyney University, where she studied Fashion Design and Business Studies. Fashion and fashion design were Dominique's passions. She loved to be noticed for her stylish clothes and giving fashion tips to her friends and family, especially her mom. She enjoyed making her own clothes and "could make something out of nothing." Dominique was a black transgender woman who was a dancer and an aspiring fashion designer and model.

Dominique's body was found on the banks of the Schuylkill River in the Bartam's Garden area of southwest Philadelphia. She had been stabbed in the head and face, and her legs had been severed from her body. Five months after her murder, a black man described as "an acquaintance" of Dominique's was apprehended in Los Angeles, California. A warrant for his arrest had been issued shortly after Dominique's death and the suspect was listed as one of Philadelphia’s most wanted fugitives. No specific motive for the killing has been identified.
